Upstream O2 Sensor Voltage Drops To 0. One heater's black wire goes to ecu pin c1 and another to j/c c107 (as indicated on wiring diag. The voltage drop was 0.37v and its my understanding that anything less tan 0.5v is ok….unless i’m mistaken.
I understand that if the upstream o2 sensor voltage is high or low, it could possibly mean that the o2 sensor itself is good and the combustion got a problem. I just got a decent scan tool recently so i can finally look at some numbers although i don’t quite know how the downstream sensor should look. If your engine is running rich the upstream o2 sensor would spike over.8v and it is completely normal for upstream o2 too spike from.2.8 now if upstream would spike up too above.8 more like 1.0vs then i would be concerned about a rich condition caused buy the engine… now as for your catalitic converters it is also important too note that. After i idled the engine for a few minutes to warm it up, the multimeter shows a steady voltage of 0.4v.
If The O2 Sensor Is A Traditional Zirconia Type Sensor, The Voltage Output Drops To About 0.2 Volts When The Fuel Mixture Is Lean (More Oxygen In The Exhaust).
Since the sensor cannot read how rich or lean the mixture is, the computer continually increases and decreases injector pulse width (the amount of time the injector(s) is on, and so, how much fuel it injects). An oxygen sensor will typically generate up to about 0.9 volts when the fuel mixture is rich and there is little unburned oxygen in the exhaust. If it doesn't, then you can be pretty sure the o2 sensor signal is bad.

The sensor produces a voltage that changes when the amount of unburned oxygen in the exhaust changes. Just do something to get more fuel into the engine and see if the o2 sensor starts to respond or not. If the o2 sensor is a traditional zirconia type sensor, the voltage output drops to about 0.2 volts when the fuel mixture is lean (more oxygen in the exhaust).
